approach to identify areas of opportunity. Often, this involves starting from first
principles on critical business drivers.
o Drive a critical initiative by augmenting your team and taking ownership: maximize pace, maintain urgency (with impatience) and lower time to value.
o Help your existing team be more successful by building the tools they need and training them to use it: create the high quality tools the business needs, automate them and remove all manual/human input required, and train / hand-off the new capabilities back to the management team
o Test hypotheses with data, unearth the relative impact of key business drivers, and
formulate an understanding for which potential post assessment actions will be most
meaningful to the business
o Work for the shareholders. We do not do ‘predictive analytics’ as much as we ruthlessly push to increase business performance. The tools are only a means to an ends.
o Create an actionable plan for executing on our insights and deliver it to the management team in an appropriate matter.
o We do not do “proofs of concept”
o Very academically focused in our areas of work. We keep up with the literature and donate
portion of our revenue to fund promising PhD. level researchers
o Thrive for the hunt: search for unsolved problems with very high difficulty levels
o Be thoughtful about operational leverage: a powerpoint deck with insightful findings creates materially less long-term impact for an organization than a marginally harder to produce repeatable data reporting product (on top of the pretty deck)
